For individuals and families

Home care and support

Asking for help at home can feel like a big step, for the person receiving support and for the people who love them. We take it at your pace, listen carefully, and build support around what matters most: staying safe, comfortable and as independent as possible.

The service

What it involves

Support is planned with you, not for you. We learn about routines, preferences, history and the small details that make a day feel like your own.

Help can range from companionship and practical support around the home to assistance with personal care, depending on what is needed and what we are able to provide in your area.

Care is reviewed regularly, and whenever needs change, so it continues to fit.

How it works

Four clear steps

  1. An unhurried conversation

Tell us about the person and the support you are considering. There is no obligation.

  2. Getting to know you

We arrange a visit or call to understand needs, routines, preferences and any risks at home.

  3. Agreeing a plan

Together we agree what support will look like, when visits happen and who will be involved.

  4. Reviewing as life changes

We check in regularly and adjust the plan whenever needs or wishes change.

Scope

What we can and cannot provide

Being clear about scope from the start helps everyone make good decisions.

What we provide

  • Companionship and help staying connected with the community
  • Help with meals, light household tasks and shopping
  • Support with personal care, delivered with dignity and privacy
  • Prompting and support with medication, in line with the care plan
  • Respite to give family carers time to rest

Good to know

  • We are not an emergency service. If someone is seriously ill or injured, call 999. For urgent medical advice, call NHS 111.
  • Our care workers support, but do not replace, the person’s GP, district nurses and other NHS teams.
  • Before we agree any package, we will confirm honestly whether we can provide the support you need in your area.

Standards

The standards we work to

These are the checks and commitments behind this service. Ask us and we will talk you through any of them in detail.

  1. Care planned around the individual and reviewed regularly
  2. Carers who are recruited safely, trained and supervised
  3. Respect for privacy, dignity, culture and personal choice
  4. Clear routes for raising concerns, compliments and complaints

Before you get in touch

Helpful to have ready

Don’t worry if you do not have all of this. We can work through it together.

  • The general area or postcode where support is needed
  • The kind of help you are looking for and roughly how often
  • When you would like support to start
  • The best way and time to reach you

Common questions

Do I need to share medical details on the enquiry form?

No. Please do not include medical details in the form. We will discuss care needs in a private conversation and agree how any personal information is recorded and kept secure.

Can family members be involved?

Yes, with the person’s consent. Many people like a relative to be part of planning and reviews, and we welcome that.

How is care funded?

Care can be self-funded or arranged through other routes, such as local authority support. We are happy to talk through the options in your situation.
